World Figure Skating Championships
Vancouver 2001
Men Explosive, powerful, Herculean, mesmerizing.  Yes, the men are my favorites.  And why not?   They overwhelm the arena with their speed and power, as if the ice were too small to contain them.   And they did not disappoint.

It was the "young" against the "old" -- 18-year-old Plushenko and 20-year-old Yagudin against the two 29-year-olds, Eldredge and Stojko.   And while Elvis wasn't quite up to it, he proved he still has the heart to compete, and Todd left no question that he's BACK.   All the top men sent a clear message:  that next year's Olympics should be the most exciting men's contest in a long time.
