 Barbara Fusar-Poli & Maurizio Margaglio
Gold Medal
They swept the season, winning every competition they entered -- but I don't get it.  Clearly what I see and what the judges see are very different when it comes to this couple; I find them really boring to watch.  They don't seem to be doing anything terribly difficult, and they have a phony quality about them.   Annisina and Peizerat, Bourne and Kraatz, and Drobiazko and Vanagas all have more style, more passion, more physical grace.  But these two have the gold medal.   Go figure.

On the positive side, we all got to hear the Italian national anthem for the first time ever.  It was long.
