Vancouver People
Everyone we encountered in Vancouver (well, almost everyone) was pleasant and friendly.  The daily pace, while brisk and definitely that of a big city, seemed less hectic and every-man-for-himself than our usual experience in California.  Service people in the stores and restaurants actually seemed happy with their lives and jobs, and dealt efficiently and pleasantly with an ongoing stream of customers.  If the weather weren't so cold, I'd move to Canada in a heartbeat!

Hamburger Mary's became our chosen spot for a leisurely breakfast.  We never did try the hamburgers. Our waitresses were Karla... ... and Sheila (mugging at Mike)... ...and George and Ben kept the kitchen humming!

Ron at the front desk was always ready to help. At the local crepery a witty Parisian remembered our favorites. At London Drugs, Carolyn and Rainbow processed rolls and rolls -- and ROLLS -- of skating pictures!
